THE INSERT GUIDE

Beautiful outside.
Thought-through inside.

The wood shell creates the look. A compatible built-in insert provides the fan, lights and filters. Choosing them together makes the fit much simpler.

THE TYPE WE PRIMARILY WORK WITH

Built-in ventilation insert example

Built-in insert

Designed to sit inside a custom enclosure. The exact body, flange, cutout and mounting clearances must suit the shell design and dimensions.

CHECK BEFORE BUYING

Already have an
under-cabinet hood?

That’s a complete appliance with its own visible metal housing. It usually won’t fit inside one of our custom wood shells.

Send the product link or installation manual first. We’ll help review whether the model can work with your selected shell.

THREE THINGS TO CONFIRM

Fit. Venting.
Everyday performance.

01 / The actual dimensions

Use the manufacturer’s body width, depth, height and required cutout. The metal flange may be wider than the body. Outside shell width is not the insert opening.

02 / The ventilation plan

Ducted models exhaust outdoors. Ductless operation needs a compatible insert, specified filters or conversion kit and a planned recirculation outlet. Confirm the arrangement before fabrication.

03 / The complete installation

Review airflow, sound at everyday fan speeds, lighting, controls, filter access, ductwork and installation requirements in the manufacturer’s instructions. Include accessories and installation in the overall budget.

BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Send the exact model.
We’ll review the fit.

Share your preferred wood hood, cooktop details and the insert’s model or specification sheet. Final compatibility must be confirmed before purchase or production.
